Project partner held a summary meeting

On 27-29 October 2009 r, in Pogorzelica, Poland project partner held a summary meeting of the project “Weighing Academy”. During the three days the project partners discussed about the conducting and execution of the project, the budget, the results obtained, the dissemination of information about the project, project results and further opportunities for the use of materials created by the project partners, such as handbook for users and Train the Trainer handbook, to conduct future Weighing Academy courses. The project partners pointed out the real possibility of continuing, even beyond the Leonardo da Vinci project – Weighing Academy, training of students and older technicians wishing to upgrade their skills. The partners put a stress on the possibility of further commercial exploitation of the project results and confirmed the importance of its implementation. It is worth mentioning, that the users handbook prepared by the Czech partner in cooperation with partners from Austria and Lithuania, presents the latest technology solutions in the field of weighing and it is a valuable source of information.

At the end of the meeting Mr. Libor Witassek, on behalf of the promoter of the project, the company Kadlec s.r.o. from Opava, gave thanks to the project partners for their work on the project and for the achieved results. He also emphasized that besides quantifiable effects of the project there was another important result – good cooperation between the partners from several EU countries and their declaration of further cooperation beyond the project.

“Weighing Academy” Conference in Èelákovice Czech Republic, 9th of October 2009

On 9th of October 2009 a conference about the results of the project “Weighing Academy” and modern forms of education in technical fields took place in CMC Graduate School of Business in Èelákovice near Prague, Czech Republic. The conference was organized by the Czech partner of the project DC VISION and was attended by project partners from Poland and Lithuania and representatives of the training institutions, secondary schools, high schools, universities as well as representatives of weighing equipment production companies and weighing facilities service companies. Participants of the conference could learn about the lifelong learning programme and programme Leonardo, about the project and its results as well as the possibilities of commercial use for education or increasing of professional knowledge of employees in companies associated with the technology of weighing. To better illustrate the contents the speakers used multimedia techniques and presentations. The conference ended with discussion about the effects of the economical crisis on the lifelong learning in the technical fields.

III. International meeting in Vilnius, Lithuania

On 11.-13. November took the third international meeting of the partners of the project Weighing Academy - Implementation of digital technology in Lithuania, Vilnius place. The partners mainly discussed the status of completion of each module and agreed that all translations will be given to an external expert for control to ensure the accuracy of the translation of the technical terms. Another point on the agenda was the promo DVD, and the proposals of the partners for its implementation. The final version will be agreed upon in the next meetings. Finally, the partners discussed further steps and tasks that need to be done until the next meeting.

LMS server with online access for students has been created

One of the project partners, DC VISION, has made LMS server accessible on its website. On this server, the entire weighing academy related e-learning outputs will be placed throughout the project duration. LMS server allows sharing, creating and editing learning materials, as well as their distribution to designated persons (students, lecturer), automatic or manual evaluation of the materials (tests, homeworks) and their following processing, administration and grouping of the users. Polish partner of project, Centrum Edukacji Zdroje, has completed localization into Polish environment of first module former edition “Weighing Academy” – “Weighing history”. Soon, the translated module will be available on LMS server, now created by Czech partner DC VISION.

2nd international meeting, Szczecin, Poland

On the 28th of May second international meeting of Weighing Academy-Implementation of digital technology project partners was held. This time project partners were hosted by representatives of private school Centrum Edukacji Zdroje in Polish city Szczecin. Mainly task break-up of new learning modules were discussed on this meeting.

Centrum Edukacji Zdroje cooperating with District Office of Measures

Polish partner of project Weighing Academy-Implementation of digital technology – Centrum Edukacji Zdroje, has commenced cooperation with District Office of Measures in Stargard Szczeciñski, Poland. Main point of cooperation is professional and essential evaluation of english-polish translation of learning modules former and present editions of Weighing Academy projects.

January 2008

Kick-off meeting in Opava, Czech Republic

On the 30th and 31st of January kick-off meeting of Weighing Academy-Implementation of digital technology project partners was held in Opava. With participation of the representative of Agency for European Educational programs (NAEP), which is responsible for realization of the Lifelong learning programme in the Czech Republic, and other educational programs, mainly activities leading to development of project outputs were specified. Partners were also informed of how the organization of the whole project would look like.
