Brief introduction

The Weighing Academy – Implementation of digital technologies project is focused on the transfer of innovation in the training for weighing machinery technicians. The main problem is to develop additional language versions of previous Weighing Academy WMT project results for Polish and Lithuanian technicians, and to upgrade the contents on the basis of up-to-date development of scales technologies.

The previous weighing training has been based on analog scales technologies, the current market trends show the growing importance of SMART digital cells and indicators in the industrial environments.

The partnership is a balanced portfolio of 3 small and medium sized producers of industrial scales and 3 experienced training providers, including e-learning training operators. The partners agreed on the commercionalisation of the project outcome after the project comes to an end.

The main impact of the project is focused on the strengthening of the competitiveness of European SMEs in the weighing industry and growing attractiveness of the weighing branch for young graduates and pupils.

Duration

  • 1st of November 2007 – 31st of October 2009

Target groups

  • Young graduates from technical high schools and Universities interested in having a job in the scales industry.

Aims

The specific aims of the project are as follows:

  • upgrade of the current Modular Training Course for Weighing Machinery technicians (WA) from present analog modules to digital technologies (digital cells, digital indicators, environments for digital systems),
  • transfer of the current Modular Training into Lithuanian and Polish languages,
  • development of the international Website related to the analog and digital weighing standardization,
